Bedroom is Finally Painted!!

Bedroom = officially painted!!!! Wooo.  What a long freaking process.  Apparently I am a much slower painter than I though.  Who knew? It took me about an hour per wall when I did the coat of paint.  Slightly over an hour per wall when I did the primer.  And cutting in takes forever but I'm so glad I did it that way versus using painters tape.  Painters tape is for the weak!  I'm not gonna lie, I didn't perfectly cut in, there's a couple spots I hit on the ceiling with the paint and a couple on the trim but I don't rarely care at the moment.  I think it looks pretty good.  I'll go over the ceiling spots at some point with some white paint since the ceiling is white.  Shouldn't be too hard to paint that over since it's just a couple small spots.  And the trim is dying for a new coat of semi-gloss paint and majorly needs to be recaulked like none other so I'll fix up those sometime in the future too.  It's so nice to finally have a home and a place I can do stuff in like paint, caulk, etc.  I'm loving it and this whole diy thing.  I have a whole board on pinterest dedicated to it and such a long list of projects.  Like caulking, painting the trim, painting my furniture, wall mounting my tv.  It's gonna be a fun couples of months getting this done!  My goal is to have my room done perfectly by Christmas time.  I think I'm gonna do one project per pay period that way I spread out the money spend and time spent on it.  Cause this whole 3 days of painting thing was not my jam.

Oh and a super cute one of me with my respirator and goggles that I used for sanding.  Not sure if it's actually necessary to use these when sanding off spackle but it suggested I did and seeing as how I like my lungs as is I followed those suggestions.  But god almighty those respirators are HORRIBLE.  My breath was so hot and I felt like I could barely breathe.  Maybe because I bought a cheap one?  Never again.  Hopefully.

In case you are wondering the color I used was "Storm" by Benjamin Moore.  I used the Regal line so it has no VOC's, yay!  I tried out a few paint samples before deciding on this one including the much famed Revere Pewter (wasn't a fan).  I've just been on a massive grey kick lately.  The first coat didn't go on quite as dark as I would've liked but there is no way I am painting on a second coat anytime soon.  No way at all.

I also really need new curtains but since I didn't realize just how expensive they are I had to just stick with some cheap $10 target ones for now.  I don't love them but I also don't hate them, and its better then not having anything to block out the light/provide privacy.  At some point in the future, nice $50 curtains will be hanging on those walls!

I'm off to watch a movie and drink my beer.  I'm super excited to get breakfast with one of my best friends in the morning so I need to be rested! And I've been waking up at like 7 am the past couple days to get painting lol.  Jokes.  What a bad idea that was.
